EARLY GOALS DOOM STRATH HAVEN, FALLS TO RIDLEY 12-2

RIDLEY 12 - Strath Haven 2
Strath Haven fell behind early, and Ridley kept piling on the points on the way to a 12-2 victory.
Nick Catona had a great game for Ridley, netting seven goals. Catona notched his first tally 7:25 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:19 into the first, at 1:42 into the second, at 4:21 into the second, at 4:42 into the second, at 6:34 into the second, and at 13:50 into the third.
Ridley forced Strath Haven's netminders to work all game long, firing 33 shots and forcing 21 saves. Lukas Bernaus made 11 stops and Jason Teofilak made 10. Ridley managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Ridley ended up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. Ridley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Ridley averages 7.2 goals per game. The defensemen of Ridley were also effective in Strath Haven's zone, and came away with two goals.
Ridley also got points from Michael Giampapa, who also racked up one goal and six assists, Thomas Plotts, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Nick Woods, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ridley also had goals scored by Jake Cross and Michael Desio, who each put in one. More assists for Ridley came via Brett Dunning, who had four and Colin McCann, Nate Dunning, and Eric Miller, who each chipped in one.
RIDLEY BEATS HARRITON 10-0 AS MCCANN GETS HAT TRICK

Colin McCann netted a hat trick to lead Ridley over Harriton, 10-0.
McCann notched his first tally nine seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 3:20 into the first and at 10:34 into the third. Ridley led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.
Ridley kept Harriton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tomer Yaron made 44 saves on 54 shots. Ridley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Ridley has scored at the pace of 7.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Ridley took advantage of Harriton's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

HUGE GAME BY CROSS BOOSTS RIDLEY OVER HAVERFOR HIGH, 4-1

Ridley's Jake Cross had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over Haverford High.
Cross scored at 5:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 1:48 into the second to make the score 2-1 Ridley. Haverford High was stymied by Ridley's netminder Brendahn Brawley, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. Brawley certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.29 entering the contest.
Ridley excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Ridley was held below its usual level of production. Ridley averages 7.2 goals per game. Haverford High was unable to stop Ridley from sending pucks towards the net, and Ridley eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.
Ridley additionally got points from Michael Giampapa, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Colin McCann, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Ridley received assists from Michael Desio, Steven Rubillo, Nick Catona, and Thomas Plotts, who contributed one each...Haverford High's offense rang up 31 shots on Ridley's net.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: SPRINGFIELD FALLS TO RIDLEY IN OVERTIME, 4-3 (OT)
GAME 4, FEBRUARY 25, 2016 7:30 PM
Ridley pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Springfield on a clutch goal by Nick Catona.
Catona had two goals and one assist to lead Ridley. Catona scored the first of his two goals at 3:21 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Michael Giampapa assisted on the tally. Catona's next tally made the score 4-3 Ridley with 17:14 left in overtime. Giampapa picked up the assist.
Ridley did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Ridley averages 7.0 goals per game. Ridley forced Springfield goalie Calin Losacco to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.
Ridley also got points from Giampapa, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Michael Desio also scored for Ridley. More assists for Ridley came via Colin McCann and Jake Cross, who contributed one each....
Brendahn Brawley made 19 saves for Ridley on 22 shots...

Standing the entire game and sharing their thoughts and feelings with the players and refs, it was a great night. We - your parents and your fans - are amazingly proud of what you have accomplished this year. You fought through heartbreak and tears and came together as a wonderful group of players who gave blood, sweat, and tears for each other. The bond you have built will never be broken.
